Basic Obedience

In our Basic Obedience class both puppies and adult dogs will learn the same things. The main difference is that the puppies have a very short attention span and may need to work on many different things in our hour class. While adult dogs may be able to spend the whole hour on one command. The idea is to get a good basis and build from there using positive reinforcement. Below are some of the main commands and manners your dog will learn and become familiar with during our classes and one on one lessons.

Other Basic Manners:
Walking on a loose leash
Walking through a crowd
Basic Heeling
Recall
Watch-me

We recognize that there are some puppy behaviors that also need to be addressed - biting, nipping, chewing, house training, crate training - we work on those items too. These items are generally addressed on an individual basis at the puppy's home through some private lessons. Please see our "Private Lessons" page for more information.
