Private Lessons & Training Classes
Falls Village Veterinary Hospital Classes:
We will be offering our Puppy Class and our Adult Dog Class starting again in January 2012. This class will teach all the skills and commands for your new puppy to get the AKC Puppy S.T.A.R. (the puppy Canine Good Citizen) and your adult dog to get the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC). These classes will both meet at Falls Village Veterinary Hospital in North Raleigh. These classes are 6 weeks long, with the first week being orientation and class. The cost for these classes is $115. Sign up for the 6:30 class even if you have an adult dog - we will have a 7:30 class if we have too many puppies for one class or enough adult dogs to have a separate class sign up.

The class is scheduled to meet on Tuesday January
17th, 24th, 31st, February 7th, 14th and Graduation
on Tuesday Feb 21st. Orientation/First class for
the January class is Tuesday January 17th
at 6:30 for puppies and adults. You do
not need to bring your puppy to orientation.

We are very excited to announce this new class in 2011. This class will introduce the participants to several dog sports. We hear people in every class say that they wish they knew how to get involved in sports with their dog without having to take an entire class. Balynda and I do several different sports with our dogs so we decided to introduce our students to them. Requirements for this class are: dogs must be a minimum of 6 months old and one of the following -- have a current CGC, have taken an obedience class with enrolled dog, or earned a performance title on any dog they owned.
Week 1: Obedience; Week 2: Rally; Week 3: Tracking 1; Week 4: Tracking 2; Week 5: Dog Sports/Games; Week 6: CGC. The class is $100 for the 5 weeks. The CGC test will be $15 payable at that class - if you already have a CGC you do not need to attend the 6th class.

Caring Canine Pet Ministry: We also certify dogs for Pet Therapy. If your church is interested in creating a Service Pet Ministry for visiting nursing homes and shut-ins, please contact us.
Private Lessons:
We realize that not all behaviors can be solved in class. Many dogs act very differently in class than at home or there may be a specific behavior you would like to address. We do offer private lessons, where we come to your house and work with you and your pet on any issues you may be having -- from introducing a new pet or new baby; house training; crate training; nipping; to walking on a loose leash; etc. We charge by the hour.
Beginning in January 2011 our hourly rate for at home private lessons will be $60. (If you are enrolled in one of our classes you can get a $10 discount on hourly private lessons.)
We usually start our private lessons with a 30 minute consultation. The consultation fee is $30
